Location: Bukasa island, Uganda
Description: Bukasa Island is located in Lake Victoria, about 6 hours of travel away from the shore. The distance doesn’t allow supply of basic services, since the cost for transportation of people and goods would be too high. The local communities relay thus on fishing and small scale agriculture.
Absolute Energy realized a housing and commercial area, using eco-building technology and cheap local construction materials. A solar system has also been installed in order to produce and distribute energy.

Main activities: Technical Solidarity’s goals are to assess, support and put in place small businesses, in order to increase trade, with special attention to work-in-progress goods. One of the main sectors is the conservation and processing of fruits and vegetables.
